DARKNESS AND LIGHT
The Long Way Back is an award-winning documentary that tells the story of Todd “Z-Man” Zalkins, a former musician and intervention specialist, who battled addiction for most of his life. But Todd’s story is emblematic of a larger story, too—one about the opioid epidemic currently haunting the United States: the worst drug crisis the country has ever faced. We were honored to have our designs featured in this important and urgent documentary. Taking inspiration from graphic novels, we used sharply contrasting tones of dark and light, along with textured imagery, to heighten the bleak and frightening realities of addiction.
